Edited on CollegeHumor Original: Breaking Bad/Walking Dead Mash-Up (2013)
Dead fingers talk about working in a nuclear-free city. ‘Breaking Bad’ is one of the highest-rated shows on IMDb, it’s one of those rare ones where every season is either very positively received or almost universally praised by critics and all of my friends have nothing but good things to say about it. Very few shows in recent memory have stuck so strongly in my memory from the beginning that I watched the entire show before the week was over, especially when with many shows airing now, watching an episode all the way to the end can be a strain. ‘Breaking Bad’ had a huge effect on me, and its reputation as one of the best, most consistently brilliant, and addictive shows in many years (maybe even history) is more than deserved in my eyes. Its weakest season may be the first, which is understandable because the first season of any show is the one where things are still being put together. Indeed, everything is laid out wonderfully from the start, but when the writing and characterization become even more detailed, the series reaches even greater levels. Visually, ‘Breaking Bad’ is one of those shows that is both modern and beautiful, with cinematic-quality photography and editing that puts a lot of today’s movies to shame, where there are plenty of visually beautiful movies, but also some that look painfully amateurish.
The direction couldn’t be better
The music is always just the right tone, never too intrusive, never too muted. Writing for ‘Breaking Bad’ is a good example for all shows of how to have plenty of style, but also plenty of substance. All the dialogue is provocative and suspenseful, and it also has a dark sense of humor and touching pathos. The stories are rich in texture, intimate, tense and layered, with a steady, thoughtful but taut pace. I can’t say anything bad about the acting.
